A few years ago...

Tornado Network Services was the Internet division of the hardware distributor Tornado Belgium. Although very successful in the Internet-world, Tornado sold this division to Eunet-Ping at the right time. After this, hardware distribution activities of Tornado Belgium went on, while TNS was sleeping. Big plans still remainded for TNS, though.

The 1st of March 1999...

The telecom market liberalisation became common in Belgium. TNS woke up. With the telecom knowledge still in house, TNS became a distributor of telecom services. The first telecom operator that showed interest in TNS was BT. Because of the former positive relations with BT (from the internet-period), TNS became a distributor for the successful new telephone service, BTtel.  The right commercial people were hired together with a network of authorised BT-dealers throughout Belgium.

September 1999...

Yucom was the first to introduce the free Internet-hype. Tornado Network Services was the first to offer it's business to them and became the IT-distributor for Yucom. In no time, thousands of Internet activations were done, thanks to the cooperation of TNS and Yucom.

April 2000...

TNS became independent. The company is now headed by three business partners. The mission of TNS is providing telecommunication services to small and medium sized companies.

Summer of 2000...

Big telecom companies remain, small resellers disappear. TNS decides to offer also other telecom operators, like WorldCom and Wanadoo. Other activities are attracted, such as telecom consultancy and multiple company projects. TNS wants to be more than just a telecom agent.
